Listed Places of Worship Grant scheme

Good news!

The Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme has been extended, and you can download the latest guidance note here.

The Scheme, which makes grants towards the cost of VAT incurred in making repairs and carrying out alterations to listed church buildings, has been extended from 1 October 2013 to include repairs to turret clocks, bells, bell ropes and bell frames, pipe organs, and the cost of professional services directly related to eligible building work. (It was extended in 2012 to include the cost of plumbing, electrical works, and heating installations (boilers, radiators etc).

To make a claim, you must submit invoices totalling a minimum of £1000 excluding VAT. However, you can now make one claim a year using invoices with a value of less than £1000, but more than £500.  Read the guidance note for full details, including what works are eligible and how to claim.
