On January 1st 2008, the Youth and Children’s Service within Rochester Diocesan Board of Education became the Department for Voluntary Education. The department focusses on delivering training to all employed workers and volunteers in three areas:
- Youth Ministry
& Youth Work
- Children’s Ministry & Children’s Work
- Extended Schools
Any work done with children and/or young people in a voluntary capacity in
churches, schools or in buildings where church youth/children work is being
done is supported by the Diocesan Adviser in Voluntary Education (DAVE). This
role is carried out by Richard Thomas and is supported by Sarah Cabella.
