Christmas Jumper Sunday - it's a thing!

On Sunday 13 December at 10.30am, St Francis Church in Galahad Avenue, Strood, will be host to the first ever Christmas Jumper Sunday.

The regular morning service will be awash with images of reindeer, baubles and Santas in a variety of clothing worn by those who will be attending.

Rev. Sharon Copestake, the Vicar, said, 'traditionally people have worn Easter bonnets at Easter to remind us of the true meaning of that season, but we don't have an equivalent at Christmas time in church. Christmas Jumper Sunday will recognise that Jesus came to the earth to give us life in all its fullness. It will be a whole lot of fun.'

Everyone is welcome to come and join in the festivities- as part of the morning's service the congregation will be decorating Christmas trees, eating mince pies, and thinking about what it means to get ready for Christmas.

St Francis Strood has a number of Christmas services over the next few weeks. For a full list you can go to their Facebook page, or find them at www.achurchnearyou.com/stfrancisstrood
