Outlining the purpose of the conference he said:

"As we began 2020, no-one imagined that we would find ourselves in our current landscape. As we adjust, step by step, to what is happening with COVID-19, it has become clear that the world is changing in fundamental ways.

"We are all beginning to imagine what our mission and ministry for God in Christ will look like, and it is important we are able to share our thinking round this in the Diocese."

Taking place on Monday 15 June, at 11am, the conference will explore:

• The social, cultural, economic and political impact of the virus; and
• Christian lifestyle in light of COVID-19

The speakers taking part will be:

• Ruth Valerio, Canon Theologian at Rochester Cathedral and Global Advocacy and Influencing Director at Tearfund.
• Madeleine Pennington, Head of Research at Theos think tank.

A Zoom link, along with guidance on how the conference will run on the day, will be sent to all registered delegates a week before the conference. A recording of the conference will be made available following the event, on the Diocesan website.

This is planned to be one of a series of online conferences and conversations facilitated by the Diocese, as we explore the impact of COVID-19 on various aspects of church life.
