Borough Green welcomed a new Vicar

The Church of the Good Shepherd, Borough Green welcomed a new “shepherd” on 24th May, when the Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev James Langstaff, assisted by the Archdeacon of Tonbridge, the Venerable Clive Mansell, Licensed and Installed Rev Chris Turner as the Priest-in-Charge of Borough Green.

At the service, there were many words of welcome from church, community and civic leaders - and also from the two firms of funeral directors based in Borough Green. Many of Chris Turner’s new flock of parishioners were present, but he did not see in Borough Green as many sheep of the woolly variety as he has been used to seeing in his former parishes in rural Lincolnshire.

It was to be a week of new clergy family starts, for, after Chris took up his new duties on 24 May, his wife, Lorraine, is to become Vicar of St Mary. Platt, on the following Tuesday, 30 May
