Diocesan Youth Council

Diocesan Youth Council

Our children and young people are a gift in our midst. They often speak to us with a wisdom far beyond their years.

The Diocese of Rochester has a Youth Council made up of young people from around the Diocese, aged between 11 and 18. It is vitally important to listen to, to value and to respond to the voices of children and young people.

The Youth Council is an opportunity for our children and young people to be equal partners within policy and decision making at all levels across the Diocese

As a member of the Youth Council, members are expected to:

  • attend the Diocesan 1WON events that are held approximately four times a year,
  • a Youth Council Residential (which is normally held in March); and,
  • attend Youth Council meetings which take place about four times a year in each Archdeaconry

There is also an opportunity for them to attend Diocesan Synod.

If you know of any young people who might be interested in joining, then please contact the Children and Young People team.
