Basic Awareness Online Training
This online training is recommended for anyone who needs a basic level of awareness of safeguarding. This may include but is not limited to: vergers, servers, welcomers, caretakers, refreshment helpers, shop staff, sidespersons, PCC members, church wardens, bell ringers, choir members/music group members. It is mandatory that Basic Awareness safeguarding training is carried out prior to Foundation and Leadership modules. The course develops a basic awareness of safeguarding in the context of the Church and Christian pastoral care. Please note these instructions before clicking on the link below to access the course: Click ‘Online Courses’ You will then be prompted to register: *Enter the name of your church and parish (or cathedral). If you work or volunteer in a parish and the cathedral, put both. It is important that your training is counted against the correct parish/cathedral. *Enter your church role. It is important that your training is counted against your role. The above details will then be assigned for Basic Awareness and Foundation training. The link to access the course is: https://safeguardingtraining.cofeportal.org Upon completion of this information you will receive an email to the email address you have used to sign up; this email contains a link which must be followed to confirm your registration. Once confirmed, you will be able to log in using the username and password you created and complete the course. At the end of the course you will be able to print a certificate and you will also receive a second email confirming your course completion.
