Praying the Way

The Fellowship of Pray-ers exists to provide prayer support to the work and worship of the Diocese of Rochester, as well as to pray for those in urgent need.

Below are the prayer leaflets for ‘Praying the Way’ around the Diocese - prayers are submitted by  deanery  coordinators and members of the Fellowship commit to a discipline of prayer around the points shared. If you are interested in joining the Fellowship do contact your local coordinator (below), or simply download the relevant prayer sheet.

Pray for: changes in staffing for office hours; the smooth running of the work with families and children with the current leaders in light of the fact that it was not right to go ahead with a new Children’s and Families’ worker at present; the licensing of one of our church members as LLM on 20 May and two others in training for LLM; the Visionary Leadership Team as they look ahead to future patterns of ministry and mission

Pray for: those on the “Growing Leaders” course being run with Bishop Ridley and St Peter’s; that we put our time and energy where God is already working; that our planned Prayer Room progresses without delay

Pray for: our Deanery Synod on 16 May and the speakers visiting us as we discuss Mission Links; those participating in the Christian Aid Walk and for awareness to be raised; our 24/7 Prayer Room at Sole Street, and for each church in the Deanery to take part; practical arrangements as we plan to pray together in the “Thy Kingdom Come” initiative, and for powerful answers to prayer

Give thanks: for the lay people who assist with worship; those who provide music; those who lead our Junior Church and Boy’s Brigade/Girl’s Association

Pray: that all may be blessed in their service; that others may be led to join in these ministries; that those who work with children may have wisdom and insight to draw them towards God; that families bringing children for baptism may recognise Jesus’ love in the church; for our churchwardens as they work on projects to refurbish kitchens and toilets in both churches

Pray for: the successful outcome of our application for a grant to carry out major repairs to the chancel
