Following the incident in Gillingham on Tuesday 23 July, Bishop Jonathan has shared the following statement:
“I am deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the stabbing of an Army officer near Brompton Barracks yesterday. My thoughts and prayers are with the officer, his family, and all those involved.
"We are holding in prayer too, all those within the 1 Royal School of Military Engineering Regiment, the wider armed forces family, the local community, and the emergency services, as they continue to respond to, and come to terms with, what has happened.”
