Rochester Cathedral came alive with colour, creativity, and community spirit on Saturday afternoon (31 May) as it hosted a Messy Cathedral event in partnership with the Diocese’s Children and Young People’s Team.
The family-friendly gathering drew around 150 attendees for an afternoon filled with hands-on activities, prayer, and reflection.
Designed to engage people of all ages, the event offered a wide range of activities - from crafting stained glass windows and Pentecost prayer boards to exploring story jars, sensory spaces, and a storytelling prayer tent.
Outdoor games and a Lord’s Prayer trail were a great addition and enjoyed by many on the sunny day.
The afternoon finished with an act of worship, followed by a shared picnic. Huge thanks go to all the amazing volunteers from parishes, who made the event possible!
