Safeguarding Dashboard
The Safeguarding Dashboard is a free online safeguarding administration tool, that guides parishes through their safeguarding responsibilities, and is kept up to date with current Church of England policies and procedures.
It has the following key features:
- Shows the safeguarding status of a church setting at a glance
- Explains an actions required
- Generates helpful action plans and reports for PCC meetings.
- Provides explanations with links to relevant safeguarding guidance, information and resources
Many parishes within the Diocese are successfully using the Dashboard and report how useful it has been.
'I think the Dashboard is a brilliant tool. I find using it helps enormously especially when I am reporting to PCC and asking for discussion and approval of various procedural matters, as it helps me to focus on the things which need doing, and not leave anything out.'
PSO, St John's Church, Tunbridge Wells.

Safeguarding Hub
The Safeguarding Hub is an online tool designed to assist parishes specifically with their responsibilities around safer recruitment and people management.
The Safeguarding Hub consists of a suite of three tools:
- Stage 1: Keep track of DBS checks and safeguarding training
- Stage 2: Create role descriptions and person specifications.
- Stage 3: Track the safer recruitment of new volunteers.
Parishes can choose to use one, two, or all three of these tools. Future tools are expected to help parishes further.
The Safeguarding Hub makes it easy to identify when actions are outstanding, in progress or completed. Helpful reports can also be generated to assist with keeping track of actions.
The Safeguarding Hub stores personal information, therefore, there are some important factors of which parishes need to be aware:
Your PCC will need to formally adopt the Safeguarding Hub, accept the Service Agreement and acknowledge and comply with the GDPR requirements.
For more information about the Safeguarding Hub please visit the website www.safeguardinghubs.org.uk/introduction.php or download this brochure.
If you are not yet using the Safeguarding Hub and would like to, please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Team - safeguarding.admin@rochester.anglican.org
