Description:

The Bexley Team Ministry comprises St John's Bexley, St Mary's Bexley, St Barnabas Joydens Wood, and St James North Cray.  These four parishes lie within the Sidcup Deanery in the London Borough of Bexley, from historic and suburban Bexley Village to the more semi-rural areas of Joydens Wood and North Cray.  The local area is mainly made up of privately owned residential homes, but also benefits from Bexley High Street with its shops and restaurants and Bexley railway station.

All four churches are known as friendly, welcoming and inclusive places, demonstrating a living faith that shows God's love for His people.  Each church has its own PCC and distinctive style and tradition.
The successful applicants will need to work collaboratively and build relationships within a committed team of ordained and lay people.

Main Responsibilities

The Team currently has one full-time Team Vicar (based at St John's Bexley), and a part-time Associate Priest who works across the Team.

The new Team Rector will need to be an experienced and enthusiastic leader who can work with and build upon what is good, offering oversight to each of the churches, supporting and strengthening the Team identity and values, and leading in its vision and mission.

The Team Vicar (half-time) will need to be pastoral and engaging, willing to serve across the Team and hold responsibility for a specific area of ministry which will be decided based on the skills/passions of the Team members.

It is expected that members of the Team will work across all the parish boundaries.
