ABOUT US:
St Nicholas Church is situated on the High Street, so is at the heart of the community.  The parish has a population of around 12,000.  The historic church has recently been reordered to remove pews, thus creating a flexible and accessible space which can be used by the community for a wide range of events.

Worship: We hold BCP (said) and Sung Eucharistic services supported by an organist and choir each Sunday morning, and a BCP Evensong every fortnight.  On the third Sunday a family service is offered at 3pm with crafts and stories.  Vestments are worn for all services.

Our new parish priest will be supported by an experienced Team which includes an ordained Pioneer Minister (shared with a neighbouring parish), an LLM, a Parish Administrator, a Director of Music/organist, and an enthusiastic PCC.

The Vicarage is a spacious 4-bedroomed property less than half a mile from the church site.

  •     Resilient and self-confident, able to work with and lead a diverse range of people of all ages.
  •     Able to subscribe to our aim of being open and hospitable, welcoming all.  We regard ourselves as an inclusive church.
  •     Pastorally sensitive and compassionate for those wo might be going through difficult times.
