VICAR OF ALL SAINTS, BELVEDERE:  We are seeking a driven and passionate parish priest who has a vision for growth to lead us in our work and ministry in the community.

The Parish:  All Saints Church has been tied up with the history and development of Belvedere, and over the years has been at the centre of 'village' life.  The parish is located in the mainly residential (pop. 10,500) northern side of the London Borough of Bexley, with Woolwich & Plumstead to the left and Dartford & Erith to the east.  Most residents commute to London for work as the parish is well served by public transport.

The church itself is an imposing Grade II Listed building dating to the 1850s.  It is brick-built and faced with flint, set within attractive and well maintained grounds, and is in a good state of repair.  Recent refurbishments include new heating and lighting.

The church hall is detached and built in 1957, and is used extensively by various community groups.

Worship style is 'central'; vestments are worn and our choral liturgy is supported by a strong and committed robed choir.  The diverse and growing congregation is made up of all Church traditions.

The Vicarage stands in its own grounds between the church and church hall and was built at the same time as the church.  It has five bedrooms, a large corner lounge, separate dining room and a spacious study.  The garden is large and has been used to hold garden parties and other events in the past.

The ideal candidate will be strong, prayerful and collaborative priest who can particularly develop and implement a plan in the following key areas:

  • growing our regular attendance;
  • increasing our planned giving;
  • driving forward youth and teen ministry;
  • rebuild and strengthen our ministry and support for older people and the housebound;
  • support the laity to pray for and participate in mission.

Our new priest will be assisted by a supportive PCC, an experienced lay team and part-time Parish Administrator.

Full details about the parish can be seen in the accompanying Parish Profile or on the church website: www.allsaintsbelvedere.co.uk
