We are seeking a full-time Vicar for this missionally focused, Spirit-filled, prayerful church set next door to Danson Park and just a short walk away from Welling High Street.
The new Vicar will need to:
- be rooted in God's Word, prayer, and the work of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
- have a heart for mission and evangelism, and a vision for working collaboratively with our Ministry Team and others.
- be a gifted preacher/teacher with a traditional evangelical view of Scripture.
Our church has been part of the local community since 1926 and is known for being warm and welcoming. Rooted in the evangelical and charismatic tradition, we are a prayerful church with plenty happening for all ages. The chancel is an open and spacious area that works wonderfully for guitar-led worship, dance and informal gatherings. Worship is varied and centred on Jesus, with teaching grounded in the Bible and led by the Holy Spirit.
The church hall was refurbished in 2024, with further works planned during 2025. It is well used by local community groups, including the church playgroup, which is very popular and employs a team of 10 staff.
The Vicarage was built in the 1950s and is a 4-bed detached property close to the church.
Our new Vicar will be supported by a Team which includes an LLM, two Readers and a Pastoral Assistant (PTM). We have two people about to begin LLM training and one completing the Bishop's Certificate. There is also a team of paid staff, including a Church Administrator, Assistant Administrator and Youth Worker, and many who give their time freely to support the church in various ways.
